MICROS Debuts New Groundbreaking Features with MICROS OPERA at HITEC

June 30, 2010 - MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions to the hospitality and retail industries, debuted its new groundbreaking features available with the MICROS OPERA Enterprise Solution at the 2010 HITEC Convention in Orlando, Fla., last week.

The new features in OPERA include customer-facing technologies that will enhance the guest experience, streamline operations and allow hotels to become more environmentally friendly.

Reduce installation costs for OPERA Installations with the OPERA Hardware Solution. This solution offers all hotels the opportunity to purchase an all inclusive OPERA server, that will be delivered to the hotel pre-configured with OPERA, the MICROS Disaster Recovery, and the MICROS Back Up Solution. Additionally, the hotel’s front desk agents can assist hotel guests by using the Tablet Kiosk, enabling roaming checkin and out throughout the hotel including electronic signature capture and powerful interfaces with innovative door locking systems.

Hotel guests can checkin and checkout with their mobile phone and open their room door regardless of cell phone type. Integration alliance allows hotels to offer a host of mobile services before, during and after a guest stay. OpenWays, a global developer of mobile-based access management and guest service solutions for the hospitality industry has joined forces with MICROS Systems to better respond to the exploding demand by hoteliers for leveraging cell phone technology and its related infrastructure to offer better service to the guest.

Through seamless integration with MICROS Guest Connection and our premier activities partner, OpenCourse, the OPERA Resort Activity Dashboard, provides a central location for hotel agents to schedule guest activities, such as dining reservations, spa appointments, rental items and golf tee times. The OPERA WebProposal is one of the industry’s first fully integrated electronic Web proposal systems.
