ASSA ABLOY Hospitality showcased TimeLox DC On-line, its radio-frequency (RF) online electronic-locking system for large hotels, casinos and resorts, at HITEC in Orlando, Fla., June 25 through 28.

DC On-line was developed to ensure a cost-effective way to facilitate reliable two-way communications from stand-alone electronic locks to a property’s host security system.

“TimeLox DC On-line is a wire-free, cost-efficient locking solution tailored specifically to match the unique security needs of mega-sized hotels, casinos and resorts,” said Marc Freundlich, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality North America. “It’s now possible for these distinct properties to install a cutting-edge online system without the drawbacks of installing a wired network to every door, and the associated installation and maintenance costs.”

Utilizing bidirectional RF communication that eliminates the need to travel to each guestroom to reprogram individual locks, identify and change low batteries, or cancel or re-encode cards, DC On-line provides centralized control not possible with offline stand-alone locks.

“With TimeLox DC On-line, most information updates and data retrieval can be managed remotely from the property’s main computer system,” Freundlich said. “You can have two-way command and control of the system from one desktop.’”

Built on the ZigBee™ Standard ISO 802.15.4 platform, the only wireless open standards-based platform to address the unique needs of remote monitoring and access-control network applications, DC On-line offers customers increased system reliability and performance at an affordable cost. Operating on a nonproprietary platform like ZigBee also allows for smooth interface and integration, seamless service and maintenance, and the ability to capitalize on future platform developments. With transmission distances of up to 100 feet, depending on the architectural characteristics of the property, DC On-line components can communicate with multiple rooms at once, reducing the number of network components required for installation compared to other online technologies.

TimeLox DC On-line can be interfaced to a casino or resort’s central property management system while providing support for kiosks, point-of-sale transactions and multiroom guest-access scenarios. In the event of a power outage, all DC On-line locks function as traditional electronic locks in offline mode to ensure normal operation for guests and staff security.

With customer-oriented functionality and flexible software and hardware, DC On-line has the ability to adapt to any property’s specific needs. The online system is compatible with the existing line of electronic locks from TimeLox, allowing high-end hoteliers more freedom of choice to match their design needs.

“The most recent addition to the TimeLox family of security solutions, DC On-line offers a wide array of benefits tailored to the unique needs of owners, managers and employees of large casinos, resorts and hotels,” Freundlich said.
