Squirrel Systems, a leading provider of hospitality point-of-sale solutions teamed up with OpenTable to assist one of Vancouver’s newest unique venues in delivering a great dining experience.

“In today’s hectic pace where much of people’s time is on the Internet, online Web reservations are important in allowing customers a convenient way to set aside time at their favorite dining establishment,” said Linda Gillis, director of marketing for Squirrel Systems. “Coupled with integrated table management the SquirrelOne and OpenTable combination provides the restaurant with an ability to manage their guest experience more closely.”

The integration between SquirrelOne and OpenTable provides real-time updates of table status information from the SquirrelOne point-of-sale system to OpenTable.  This allows hosting staff to better manage waitlist.  The result is a happier guest whose wait time expectations are being met or exceeded.

“We really find the Squirrel System easy to use and with the seamless integration to OpenTable it allows us to focus on the finer details of the guest experience,” said Ron MacGillivray, general manager of the Kingston Taphouse & Grill. “The Kingston is a very unique dining concept in the city and we find that OpenTable’s popularity assists us in attracting new guests. With the SquirrelOne platform and OpenTable we are able to better manage the guest experience in our challenging multifloor layout.”
