Panasonic Information Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company, introduced the newest release of its System Manager Pro (SMP) and Corporate System Manager Pro (CSMP) software for the Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Version 2.1 features new functionality such as Merchant Link support and video surveillance support with several system performance enhancements, making the software a more comprehensive business tool for the hospitality industry.
"The implementation of these upgrades, combined with the performance and quality of the Panasonic Point of Sale (POS) product suite, offers our customers advanced technology solutions to effectively manage their business," said Doyle Ledford, director, Panasonic Information Systems. "We have listened to what our customers need to manage their operations more efficiently and applied this input when developing this software upgrade."
New to Version 2.1 is the Merchant Link support function which gives customers a second credit card choice with a completely different price structure. Additionally, the CCTV support function allows the integration of video cameras with the SMP software for transaction-based video surveillance. Panasonic also offers a variety of technology-leading video cameras and surveillance systems. A third significant new function is CSMP High Availability, which provides large franchises the ability to create a network of computers to better support the hosting of CSMP.
Also included in Version 2.1 are a schedule availability feature and a schedule variance report, both of which enhance the existing schedule building feature. Additional improvements to the software include a seven-day financial report and a monthly hire report, as well as increased capabilities for editing and security settings.
These new features are complementary to Panasonic's CSMP and SMP software, which incorporates state-of-the-art communication capabilities, comprehensive data editing capabilities and a Web-based option for editing menu items, prices, coupons and tax files. The new software is compatible with Panasonic legacy systems 5500 and 7500, as well as the newer 7750/7800/930 and 7900 POS workstations.
