For the first time in the United Kingdom, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) will present technologies from the 2007 version of GUESTROOM 2010, a futuristic, model hotel room.

The presentation will be part of the education program at the Second BAHA Hospitality Finance and IT Professionals Conference & Exhibition held November 8-9 at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow in London. The GUESTROOM 2010 presentation will be at 5:30 p.m. on November 7. The two-day conference, produced by the British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA), will include informative sessions for finance and IT professionals.

“GUESTROOM 2010’s greatest success is that it has given professionals in the hospitality industry a forum to showcase and discuss important hospitality technologies,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “We look forward to presenting the room’s technologies and opening up dialogue among conference attendees.”

After many requests to show GUESTROOM 2010, HFTP created a portable presentation detailing the room’s technologies that can easily travel to the global hospitality community, which has been presented in North America, Europe and Asia.

In one place, GUESTROOM 2010 provides a guestroom experience enhanced by tomorrow’s technology. In order to design the 2007 model of GUESTROOM 2010, HFTP conducted a global search for some of the industry’s most innovative technologies for the hotel guestroom. This includes nontraditional types of technology such as lighting, fabrics and furniture, as well as traditional technology such as next-generation televisions, phones and robots. The 2007 version of the exhibit debuted at HITEC 2007 in Orlando, Fla. June 26-28. The 2008 version of GUESTROOM 2010 will be unveiled at HITEC 2008 in Austin, Texas June 16-19, 2008.

HFTP and BAHA recently announced a strategic alliance, increasing educational opportunities for hospitality, finance and technology professionals worldwide. The strategic alliance will allow the associations to expand member benefits – including reduced cross-membership rates, greater access to publications and research, and increased visibility for both organizations.

The allied partners will also work jointly on projects relating to financial accounting standards, authoring industry texts and educational conferences.  In addition, the certification review courses for HFTP’s certified hospitality accountant executive (CHAE) and certified hospitality technology professional (CHTP) certifications will be offered in the United Kingdom through BAHA as part of their educational program alongside the current BAHA ETP qualifications. BAHA is an authorized test administrator for the HFTP exams.
