In today’s travel market, consumers are interested in a one-stop-shop where they can build and book a complete travel experience -- flights, car rentals, attractions, tours, event tickets, dinner reservations with local restaurants and hotel accommodations.

They want the ability to book this along with amenities such as parking, airport transfers, massages, golf tee times, and pet fees, very little of which is found on Global Distribution Systems (GDS) or Internet Distribution Systems (IDS).  Only Travel Spike allows the hotel chain, individual hotels, and attractions to build packages that include any of these local merchants.

Travel Spike is also the first company to offer a commission-free and GDSfee-free pricing model to hotels, tourism boards and tour operators.  This ground-breaking alternative pricing model allows travel companies to significantly lower their distribution costs and keep more of their transaction revenues.

“Hotels are tired of paying net rates, commissions, and booking fees to travel agents and other companies,” explained Ryan Bifulco, President and Founder of Travel Spike.  “Our model allows them to run a more profitable business and still generate incremental revenue from local attractions and hotel amenities.”

Travel Spike’s Dynamic Packaging Booking Engine integrates seamlessly with a hotel chain, tourism board, or tour operator’s website to incorporate their look and feel, package themes, stay controls, rates, and inventory.  The program can also accept electronic feeds from designated air partners, car rentals, GDS or IDS.   Additionally, Travel Spike can deploy its travel tools at call centers and visitor centers to maintain rate integrity and central reporting.

“As stated in a recent USA Today article entitled ‘Concierges go extra mile in Internet age’, hotels have an opportunity to share local neighborhood intelligence about restaurants, events and attractions with their guests electronically prior to arrival,” said David Bowman, VP of Sales, Travel Spike. “We agree as Travel Spike has the technology to enable properties to provide ‘high touch’ exemplary guest service.”
