SoftBrands, Inc., a global supplier of enterprise application software, announced that it has extended its agreement with Libra Hospitality to represent the Karyon distribution products and services across Russia and eastern Europe.

Libra Hospitality is a premier software provider to the growing travel and tourism market throughout Russia and eastern Europe, and currently supports more than 150 hotels.

“With Karyon, we now offer a true, end-to-end, vertically integrated solution, providing not only state-of-the-art management information systems to our client hotels, but also the connectivity to all the major distribution channels,” said Nikolai Balba, managing director, Libra Hospitality. “We are very happy to extend our agreement with Karyon, and are looking forward to continuing our close relationship.”

Karyon, which SoftBrands launched less than one year ago, has already signed more than 175 member hotels representing over 20,000 rooms.
“SoftBrands' reseller agreement with Libra Hospitality has yielded positive growth for the Karyon business,” said Gregg Hopkins, vice president and general manager of Karyon.  “Libra’s focus on localization of the product with their dedicated staffing supported by Karyon’s sales process makes them a significant provider across the growing Russian region.”

“At the time SoftBrands launched Karyon Distribution Services, we expected rapid market acceptance for this type of needed service, and as we approach the one year anniversary, we are pleased with the pace of our global expansion. The Karyon offering has proven to be a differentiating factor against our competition and satisfies the requirements we heard in the marketplace,” said Steve Van Tassel, sr. vice president, and general manager SoftBrands, hospitality.
