Aston Hotel, Sheffield in United Kingdom Selects Visual One Suite of Products by Agilysys

Agilysys, Inc., a leading provider of innovative information technology and hospitality software solutions, announced that Aston Hotel, Sheffield, located in South Yorkshire, U.K., has selected a comprehensive Visual One Suite of Products by Agilysys to streamline operations at the 78-room property, which is scheduled to open in April 2008.

Aston Hotel, Sheffield is owned and managed by Aston Hotels. Currently, two other Aston Hotels properties are using Visual One solutions.

Aston Hotel, Sheffield was looking for a single vendor that could provide comprehensive and integrated solutions for property management, point of sale and sales and catering. The Visual One suite was ideal, with powerful yet scalable systems that create more efficient business processes and deliver measurable results. The suite, which operates under Microsoft Windows® NT with a Microsoft SQL® server database, will enable the property to improve productivity in nearly every area of operations.

“We implemented the Visual One suite at our Dumfries and Darlington hotels with great success, so we therefore turned to Agilysys once again when selecting technology for our Sheffield property,” said John Deighan, operations director at Aston Hotels. “We especially appreciate that the Visual One solutions are fully integrated, utilizing the same database and providing real-time information exchanges. Using the same system at all of our hotels ensures standardized operations and continuity to customers. We are confident the software suite will enable our newest hotel to maximize performance which, in turn, allows us to provide guests with the best possible service.”

Aston Hotel, Sheffield is implementing the following Visual One solutions:

  • Visual One Premiere Property Management System by Agilysys, a flexible and reliable property management solution that offers a variety of features and functionality, including front office operations, guest history, housekeeping, night audit, reservations management, room maintenance and travel agent management. The hotel also is implementing the accounts receivable module, which automatically imports direct bill checkouts from the property management system to the appropriate account receivable, and the Web booking module, which enables guests to view room rates and availability, make a reservation and obtain a real-time confirmation number.
  • Visual One Point-of-Sale (POS) System by Agilysys, a POS solution designed especially for the hospitality industry. The system is both touch-screen and barcode controlled and operates in a variety of hotel environments, including bars, fast food outlets, gift shops, spas and table service restaurants.
  • Visual One Sales & Catering System by Agilysys, a powerful and flexible software system that enables hotels to manage meeting room and banquet operations. Functionality includes catering and banquet management, group rooms management, meeting room management, menu planning and sales account management.
