Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) and the GUESTROOM 2010 Task Force, a group of hospitality technology leaders and experts, are conducting a comprehensive global search for some of the hospitality industry's most innovative technologies to be exhibited in GUESTROOM 2010.

The 2008 version of GUESTROOM 2010, a model hotel room featuring some of the latest and near-future technologies, will be unveiled at the 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) and on display at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas June 17-19. The deadline for submitting a technology and supporting documentation — Friday, March 28 — is quickly approaching.

"The recognition that GUESTROOM 2010 has received since its inception in 2006 has made it a viable resource for hospitality technology," said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. "The new version of GUESTROOM 2010 will undoubtedly create new buzz about the future of guestroom technology."

In order to design the 2008 model, the task force is seeking new and upcoming technologies for the hotel guestroom. Potential technologies include, but are not limited to, traditional technologies like electronics, non-traditional technologies like textiles and green technologies like energy-saving devices. Previous versions of GUESTROOM 2010 have included technologies such as a recycled carpet made from corn-based polymers, a bed without a mattress and a window that is an art gallery.

Hospitality technology suppliers, consumer technology companies, inventors and others who have a technology product that should be considered for display must apply by Friday, March 28. You do not have to be a member of HFTP or a HITEC 2008 exhibitor to participate. Submissions are considered and carefully chosen by the GUESTROOM 2010 Task Force. "I believe the GUESTROOM 2010 format is an excellent venue for displaying and presenting new and unique products to a very interested and attentive audience," said Terry M. Cook, CEO of the Litebook Company Ltd., technology exhibited in 2007 version of GUESTROOM 2010. "The exhibit was very well attended and I would be most pleased to present my products in this format at future shows."
