Helping Restaurants Connect Their Front-of-House Operations to the Heart of the Restaurant – the Kitchen – QSR Offers Free Staff Training with Table Management Purchase to NRA Attendees.

QSR Automations®, a technology provider helping businesses worldwide maximize guest delight through comprehensive hospitality automation, will feature its newest product innovations at the 2008 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show (NRA), held May 17 to 20 at McCormick Place, Chicago.  The exhibit will include new online capabilities within QSR’s ConnectSmart® Hospitality Automation Solution, including ConnectSmart WebAhead for online call ahead capabilities and ConnectSmart WebReserve for online reservations.  Also on display within QSR’s connected solution sets will be the latest enhancements to QSR’s revolutionary ConnectSmart Hostess seating and wait list management software, as well as QSR’s sophisticated kitchen automation hardware and software, including the new AccuPrep™ View within the ConnectSmart Kitchen (CSK) graphical software.

“For more than a decade, QSR has led the way in advanced kitchen automation software and hardware for operators of all concepts, including quick service, table service, and fast casual,” said Lee Leet, president and chief executive officer of QSR Automations.  “The kitchen is the real heart of the restaurant.  As we have applied our unique expertise to other mission critical areas of the restaurant – like the hostess stand – we have ensured we are taking full advantage of a connection to the kitchen.  With our front to back technology solutions, QSR connects restaurants – large and small – to the best in operations and the highest guest delight.”

QSR first revolutionized kitchen automation for table service restaurants with the ePic® Kitchen Management Solution, including the ePic Kitchen Display Software (ePic KDS).  In addition to making ongoing enhancements to the ePic KDS as well as QSR’s kitchen hardware options, QSR has continuously innovated kitchen automation software with the CSK.  QSR’s latest innovations available with the CSK include tabbed views, web-based functionality, and the AccuPrep View.  In addition to the CSK’s graphical capabilities for displaying enhanced order and item details as well as menu cards, the CSK’s fully definable tabbed views enable operators to customize their kitchen screens to display and manage all of the information that can be needed at each individual station.  For example, a team member responsible for the expeditor station may also need access to the real-time activities occurring at each of the preparation stations, summary data, a web-based recipe book, reports, alerts, or training information.  All of this information, including any information from the web, can be made available on one physical screen by using easy to navigate tabs configured at the top of the CSK station view.

QSR’s new AccuPrep View gives operators yet another choice in how they can manage each individual kitchen station.  The customizable AccuPrep View works in conjunction with QSR’s delay routing or patent-pending Dynamic Routing™ functionality, which ensure that each menu item is displayed at the kitchen screen that is responsible for preparing that item based on the cook times of all of the items within a specific order, so that all of the items from that order will complete at the same time.  Taking it a step further with the AccuPrep View, the item follows the process that a chef follows, moving through three different sections of the screen based on the real-time preparation status of the item, ending in a plating area that also shows the side item information.  The AccuPrep View reduces unused screen space, eliminates confusion, and ensures no new items are missed.  Most importantly, the AccuPrep View protects food quality because the chef maintains focus on items that require action when those items need action, also ensuring that side items are not plated too early.

Also part of the demonstrations, QSR will highlight the latest enhancements to the ConnectSmart Hostess seating and wait list management software that not only interfaces to the leading point-of-sale systems, but also gains intelligence from a real-time link to critical production information, providing truly accurate wait times and the ability to manage the total guest experience.  Additionally, the ConnectSmart WebAhead functionality supports online call aheads for guests who wish to join the wait list through the web rather than via the telephone.

Fully integrated with QSR’s ConnectSmart Hostess, the ConnectSmart Reservations and ConnectSmart WebReserve software ensure operators gain complete control when caring for all guests – walk ins, call aheads, online call aheads, reservations, and online reservations guests – from one easy-to-use solution that is also interfaced with the leading point-of-sale systems.  Also available as a powerful stand-alone application, ConnectSmart Reservations eliminates overbooking while capturing guest data and ensuring that more reservations can be processed more accurately with less training and less personnel.

With ConnectSmart GuestView, operators can use highly graphical displays to communicate key information along with multi-media messaging, such as advertisements, to guests within the restaurant.  Table service operators may choose to display the wait list to enhance branding and guest loyalty while driving sales with advertising.  ConnectSmart GuestView can also be used to show information for any order that a guest will pick up within the restaurant, such as to-go orders in a table service environment or counter pick-ups in a fast casual or concession environment, alleviating stress and confusion as well as errors and comps.

“We are excited to share our comprehensive, connected solutions with the NRA attendees – especially our new online capabilities within the kitchen, as well as at the hostess stand and for reservations,” added Andrew Sonntag, chief operating officer for QSR Automations.  “Restaurant operators of all sizes and concepts can put any or all of QSR’s solutions to work for them.  We have even designed a special offer, which provides free staff training, for NRA attendees who wish to purchase a complete table management solution from QSR.”

As a special offer for NRA attendees, operators can take advantage of a day of staff training at no charge when purchasing a complete software, hardware, and services package from QSR for the ConnectSmart Hostess solution.  For detailed requirements and to learn more about this special offer, visit QSR at Booth 5773 in the Technology Pavilion during NRA 2008 or contact QSR at qsr@qsrautomations.com.
