In response to the membership's call for more regional association education, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is offering another opportunity for members to attend a regional leadership seminar on June 18 at 1 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

The seminar is co-located with the 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) and focuses on leadership skills necessary for successful chapter management, as well as provides a forum to discuss new ideas and innovations.

"HFTP believes that leadership is essential to the association and the hospitality industry," said Anna McFarland, CPA, CFE, CHAE, CHTP, HFTP global president and vice president of finance and management reporting for Sofitel Luxury Hotels North America. "By providing the regional leadership seminars in various HFTP communities, HFTP members still receive the benefits of leadership and chapter training, even if they can't afford to travel to the larger HFTP meetings like the Leadership Academy."

While registration is free, attendees must register on the HFTP Web site. The seminar covers topics such as legal issues, chapter marketing and how HFTP Global can help chapters. All HFTP members are encouraged to attend this complimentary seminar. There are four seminars planned for 2008, with the first one held earlier this year in San Diego, Calif. and the next planned for October.

Under the vision of the board of directors, HFTP is able to expand its reach globally and address the needs of the entire hospitality industry. With 69 chapters around the world, HFTP offers numerous benefits including leadership training and experience on the local chapter level and beyond.
