NCR Launches POS Workstation for Small- and Mid-Sized Retailers

Strengthening its portfolio of technology products tailored for small- and mid-sized retailers, NCR Corporation introduced the latest addition to its NCR RealPOS™ family of point-of-sale (POS) workstations.

The NCR RealPOS 21, a small-footprint touch-screen workstation, is designed to deliver a new level of investment value through a superior combination of performance, reliability and functionality.
“NCR has a long history of enhancing its POS portfolio with solutions that incorporate progressive and best-in-class technology,” said Greg Egan, NCR vice president for assisted service.  “Following this history of innovation, the NCR RealPOS 21 offers long life, industry standard components that provide product stability to extend and protect retailers’ POS investments.”
Driven by powerful Intel technology, the NCR RealPOS 21 supports the latest POS applications while accommodating retailers’ future needs.  The NCR RealPOS 21 features a bright 15-inch resistive touch screen designed to enhance the user experience.  Peripheral options include a variety of printers, including NCR’s latest two-sided multifunction printer, a complete family of bar-code scanners, customer displays, payment terminals and biometric devices.

The NCR RealPOS 21 is available with the retailer’s choice of operating system including: Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Embedded, Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS) and Novell Linux (NLPOS).  In addition, as with all NCR products, the NCR RealPOS 21 is compliant with the Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.
