Visual One Systems Corporation, a supplier of management software to the hospitality industry since 1977, held its 2006 User’s Conference at the exclusive Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Tex. from September 11 - 15, 2006.

Almost 250 attendees from hotels, resorts and conference centers around the world contributed to V1’s largest conference ever.

V1’s upgraded yield management system was met with applause.  New features include length-of-stay rules, days-in-advance rules and also yield by room type.

V1 also introduced its new Web page interface that permits Web masters to add dot-net controls to a hotel’s Web site, thus allowing the hotel to create a custom user-interface.  In addition, the reservation process remains inside the hotel’s Web site so that the guest doesn’t exit the hotel’s Web page.

A full slate of seminars and open sessions were held with topics including:
  • Master Folio and Package Plan Logic in V1 PMS
  • Selling Tools and Forecasting in V1 Sales & Catering
  • Financial Report Writing and Condominium Management in V1 Accounting
  • Dining Room Reservations and Top-View Table Status in V1 Point-of-Sale
  • Tournament Management in GolfPro
  • Retail POS and Client Management in V1 Spa
  • Data Extract and Query Builder in all of the V1 products

"I was proud of our people who conducted the sessions,” said Dave Burroughs, president of Visual One Systems.  “Our clients were very positive and helpful.  Even I learned some new things about the V1 software.  Barton Creek is a beautiful place to have a conference."

"We were very pleased by the conference. The sessions were helpful, and Visual One was very receptive to its users' suggestions.  Barton Creek's service level and food were excellent.  And the participants were lots of fun, too!" said Jonathan Brinkman, executive director of IT at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla.

Steve Ware, corporate controller of Tradewinds Resorts, St Pete Beach, Fla. said, "As always the V1 Conference is worth the cost with an immediate payback in knowledge and networking contacts.  Just getting the ear of programmers and company executives is invaluable."

"Thank you to everyone at Visual One for putting on a great conference this year in Austin.  This has been a wonderful opportunity to play a part in the continuing evolution of the V1 systems," said Michael Beal, operations manager of Resort Suites in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Dana Ahrensberg, general manager, Snow King Resort, Jackson Hole, Wyo. said, “Thanks to you and your team for a very informative conference... we are all looking forward to our installation in November.  It was great meeting everyone and putting faces with names.  It's going to be a ton of work but well worth it in the end.”

The conference also included presentations and a mini-trade show from industry vendors including Synxis, Southern Data Comm, Post Integrations, Passkey, National Business Products, Millennium Technologies/NCR, Map Networks, LMG/returnity, IDeaS, Expedia, Easy RMS, Digital Alchemy and Axxess.
