Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), producers of the 2008 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), recently announced the winners of the FAVE Awards, a program that identifies HITEC attendees' favorite booth designs and technology solutions.
Award winners in the three categories were announced at HITEC’s closing session, on Thursday, June 19.
Attendees noted their favorite booth designs as they explored the exhibit hall and then voted at one of the FAVE Awards voting stations or online. In addition to voting on booth design, attendees voted for the HITEC Favorite Solutions Awards, which spotlights the five favorite technologies or solutions exhibited at HITEC 2008.
HITEC FAVE Award winners for 2008 are:
- Favorite Island Booth – Sony Electronics
- Favorite Inline Booth – Digital Alchemy
HITEC Favorite Solutions Awards –
- Elfiq Network’s Link Load Balancer
- LodgeNet Interactive’s media and connectivity technology solutions
- MICROS OPERA PMS
- Sony Electronics’ entertainment products
- Wii for Hotels
Attendees who voted for the HITEC FAVE awards were automatically entered into a drawing for a Wii prize package worth almost $1,000. Voter Nancy Beecraft from Mohawk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y., was named the winner at this year's event.
HFTP devised the HITEC FAVE Awards in 2007 based on responses from focus groups and surveys. The feedback indicated that attendees were seeking a program that would give exhibitors an added incentive to promote their technologies and exhibits, and enhance the sense of excitement and competition at the exposition.
