Clear Sky Software, Inc., announced the release of Clear Sky Food, a new food inventory system for the hospitality industry.

The system is available immediately.

Clear Sky Food is two software programs – one running on a desktop PC the other on a handheld bar code scanning terminal.  Both combine to create a solution for effectively tracking and controlling food products and maintaining a perpetual inventory system.  Clear Sky Food replaces manual inventory procedures and was designed specifically for hospitality.  The benefits once implemented include labor reductions, lower food costs and increased productivity and profits.

The system went through extensive beta testing beginning in March of 2007 and has been tweaked to provide the best possible results.  Features include:

• Visibility of food products in any outlet or location
• Easy transfer of inventory to/from locations
• Electronic requisition capability
• Automatic re-order functionality
• Order creation and submission via print, e-mail, Web
• Receipt processing against purchase orders with discrepancy identification
• Fast and accurate bar code-based physical inventory
• Reports by date range, vendor, product mix

“Clear Sky Software has been providing inventory systems to beverage departments for years," said Jay Williams, director of marketing and sales, Clear Sky Software. "Our customers have repeatedly requested a similar system for food.  Clear Sky Food is the answer to those requests and represents a complete inventory solution that includes software, hardware, and support services.  Now food and beverage managers at hotels, restaurants, country clubs, theme parks, sports venues or any hospitality organization can have a system that will support the efficient management of food and beverage products that will ultimately help to keep costs down and profits up."

Clear Sky Software, based in Charlotte, N.C., provides inventory software for the hospitality industry.  Customers include hundreds of hotels in such brands as Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance.
