ILCO Introduces New Deadbolt for Remote Access

  • 10.07.08
ILCO is launching a new electronic deadbolt lock, the Oracode 460K. This complements the existing Oracode 660K.

“This Internet-based system brings simplicity and enhanced security to keyless access for the industry,” says Bernard LeFebvre vice president, Oracode, Kaba Ilco Inc. “There’s no software to install, no cost of managing or replacing keys or cards, and no more midnight rendezvous to replace lost keys or to meet service people.”

“The Oracode 460K deadbolt includes all of the feature-rich benefits of the Oracode 660K lock – with a smaller footprint,” says Lefebvre, “The 660K locks provide mortise, cylindrical latch, and panic bar options. The 460K now offers a deadbolt solution.”

The Oracode 460K lock replaces existing deadbolts and installs in minutes. Only a single screw hole is needed, and there are no wires to run through the door. The modular design with sectional trims means less hardware on the door. This keyless deadbolt’s outside housing and turn knob are solid brass – with a bright brass or satin chrome finish.

The Oracode 460K stores the last 1,000 entries in an audit trail, showing date, time, user, and code. With six-digit codes, there are up to a million possible codes. The lock also features shutdown protection in case of tampering.

For vacation rentals, property management companies, timeshares, corporate housing, and individual apartments and condos, the Oracode system is PIN-based and keyless. The system allows property managers to generate time-sensitive codes via the Internet. These PIN codes can be created at the time the guest makes a reservation – months, or even years, in advance of the guest’s arrival. The entry codes only work between the correct start and finish parameters that were used to originate the code.

“This robust lock is durable and sealed to protect against resort environments, where there are often climate extremes,” Lefebvre says. He also notes that the technology being used on the deadbolt lock is proven through the Oracode 660K, which was launched in 2002 and is installed at properties such as Sunset Rentals, Outer Banks Blue, Resort Vacation Properties, Sea Turtle Getaways, and ResortQuest.

This security system can operate as a web-based stand-alone system – or it can interface with various property management software.

Kaba Ilco Inc. is the pioneer in developing the Oracode system. Over the years, ILCO has made great strides in refining and improving the finer details of this PIN-based technology. The Oracode has since been installed in thousands of units globally.
