iBAHN, a global leader in digital entertainment and premium high-speed Internet solutions for the hospitality and meetings industries, announced that Joseph J. Rook has been presented with one of the hospitality industry's most prestigious awards by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA)- the Professional Certification of Master Hotel Supplier Emeritus.

The recipient of this annual award is chosen by the certification committee of AH&LA's Educational Institute; it is awarded to an industry professional based on a significant, lifetime contribution to the growth and development of hospitality industry.

Rook, who joined iBAHN in early 2006, has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He began his career with Western International Hotels (now known as Westin) at the Peachtree Plaza Hotel, serving in departmental and executive leadership roles.  Additionally, he acquired deep experience in hotel development, new construction and renovation projects during his stint at John Portman & Associates, where he worked on Meridien and Marriott projects.  On the other side of the table, Rook served as vice president of sales/marketing for United Cotton Goods, general manager for Broyhill Hospitality Furnishings and vice president of sales/marketing for VingCard.

"We are quite fortunate to have a professional of Joe's standing and experience as part of our management team at iBAHN," says Gregory G. Hodges, president. "We congratulate Joe on his outstanding achievement, and look forward to his ongoing assistance in our strategic direction as we continue to develop new solutions to address our hotel partners' needs in the rapidly evolving technology landscape."

In recognition of Rook's years of service in the hospitality industry, his role at iBAHN has been changed to allow him to better leverage his long-standing industry relationships in the Americas and his recognized ambassadorship in the marketplace.  Rook will now focus solely on major accounts in the Americas.  His new title will be vice president, major accounts- Americas, effective immediately.

"I am indeed fortunate to work for a company that is focused on being a true partner to its hotel clients," said Rook.  "I look forward to continue to find new ways to meet our partners' needs and to contribute to iBAHN's growth"
