HSMAI DFW Elects 2009 Board of Directors

The Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) started the season off with some major changes and announcements for 2009, headlined by the induction of its 2009 board of directors, the appointment of a new managing director and its decision to continue the support of EQUEST Therapeutic Horsemanship as its 2009 philanthropy.

The 2008-2009 board followed up the gala with an intense two-day planning retreat at Garrett Creek Ranch to discuss changes and member enhancements in 2009.

The 2009 HSMAI DFW board of directors includes:Windy Barnard, president Dave & Buster’s Frisco; Vickie Chavez, VP education and programs Embassy Suites DFW Airport South; Heather Fogg, past president - Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre; Jeanne Hatcher, VP administration - Marriott DFW Airport South; Alicia Fuqua, VP finance -USA Hosts; E.J. Wells, board member extraordinaire; Kristie Vento, VP public relations - inChorus Marketing & Promotion; Mary Fallon Scheef, board member extraordinaire Go Yellow Checker Shuttle; Eddie Hill, VP membership - Team Up, Inc.; and Carrie Riney, managing director Inman Promotional Team.
HSMAI also announced the decision to continue its support of philanthropic partner, EQUEST Therapeutic Horsemanship, who, through an extensive Equestrian program, provides therapeutic sports riding classes and hippotherapy to children and adults with disabilities. HSMAI presented a check to EQUEST in 2008 for $6,000 raised at its annual Chinese Auction, and the association plans to increase its donation in 2009 with new programs.
“We are very excited about 2009 and bringing increased value to our members, especially in our challenging economic environment,” said Windy Barnard, 2009 chapter president. “We are looking forward to our enhanced activities in 2009 that will directly impact our members in a positive way.”
