Jonathan Spitz Named Vice President of Business Development for Travelscream

Travelscream, a leading provider of content distribution and social media marketing tools for the travel industry, announced the appointment of Jonathan Spitz as vice president of business development, managing the company’s expansion from its New York office.

Spitz will be responsible for ushering the company into an exciting era of growth: expanding Travelscream’s services, clients and media partners to participate in the most flexible travel distribution network in the industry.

Jonathan brings more than 20 years experience in travel and hospitality marketing, with in-depth knowledge of corporate, media and government sectors and expertise in customer activation, technology and e-marketing. As the former vice president-director of marketing at ShermansTravel Media, Spitz was responsible for corporate branding, partnerships and integration of online and offline business models. He successfully helped launch Sherman’s Travel, a new luxury travel magazine, and established programs with American Airlines, Travelocity and others.

Previously, Spitz was director of marketing for Travel Savvy and Business Traveler magazines under Frank Publishing and spent eight years on the board of directors of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Spitz spent 10 years running the Jamaica Tourist Board’s global marketing and advertising programs, known for the award winning One Love campaign, which is still running today. He won several awards for his work including an Effie from the American Marketing Association and Media Planner of the Year from AdWeek.

His career started at a leading boutique ad agency specializing in tourism, where he supervised media, direct response and database marketing for such clients as New York Convention & Visitors Bureau, Hilton International, Curacao, Four Seasons Hotels, InterContinental and American Express.

Jonathan joins the Travelscream team, which consists of 18 employees in two offices in New York City and the Vail Valley, Colo. In 2008, Travelscream grew its roster of travel clients tenfold, tripled its staff and successfully launched the Travel Deals Network (TDN), formerly known as the Syndicated Partner Network, which enables travel providers to reach more than 30 million engaged consumers through publishing partners like Fodors.com, Golf.com, NationalGeographic.com and Condé Nast’s Brides.com, among others.
