VingCard®, a leading hospitality security provider and part of the ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Group, announced that Signature RFID is its fastest growing product launch in recent company history, with thousands of hotel guestrooms throughout the United States and Canada now operating the contactless RFID electronic door locks.

Since the system’s introduction in 2007, VingCard has installed Signature RFID at premium-level properties around the globe, with many notable North American installations, including the 282-room Plaza Hotel in New York City and the 221-room Nelsen Lodge in Revelstoke, British Columbia.

“We are pleased to announce that a quickly growing number of properties in the United States and Canada have chosen Signature RFID as their locking system of choice,” said Rune Venas, president of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, Inc. in North America. “As hoteliers become more conscious of their customers’ needs, they know they can count on this revolutionary product from VingCard to provide top-notch security as well as convenience and ease-of-use, pleasing guests and hotel owners alike.”

Signature RFID employs the latest technology to offer a unique contactless design for user-friendly, intuitive guest interaction and unsurpassed security to hotels. By installing Signature RFID, hotels also have the option to offer remote checkin to guests with NFC-compatible cell phones, allowing them to skip the check-in line upon arrival and go straight to the room, where their NFC-cell phone will unlock the door. Additionally, Signature RFID employs anti-cloning technology for all guests and staff cards, making it virtually impossible for keycards to be cloned and used.

Signature RFID is a secure open-platform system compatible with the three leading RFID ISO standards (ISO 14443A/MiFare, ISO 14443B, ISO 15693) and also the near field communication (NFC) transaction platform for cell phones, therefore eliminating the guesswork for hoteliers in choosing the right technology standard.
