QSR Automations®, a leading technology provider helping businesses worldwide maximize guest delight through comprehensive hospitality automation, will celebrate its tenth anniversary by featuring its newest product innovations at the 2006 International Foodservice Technology Exposition (FS/TEC).

Demonstrations will highlight QSR’s software and hardware technologies designed to fully automate the toughest areas in the hospitality business, those not managed by point-of-sale or backoffice systems. On display are new enhancements and options for advanced kitchen management as well as the latest updates to QSR’s table management software, including a fully integrated module for reservations.

As the leading independent provider of advanced kitchen technology for every hospitality environment, QSR is adding another software option to its ePic® Kitchen Management Solution. In addition to the plug-and-play ePic Direct kitchen video system and the robust and flexible ePic Kitchen Display Software (KDS), QSR now offers the ePic Kitchen Display Xpress (KDX) for multi-unit, small to medium, and independent quick service operators who do not require the extensive features available from the ePic KDS. Providing the most commonly used kitchen functionality in a quick service environment through a simplified configurator for up to six display stations, users of the ePic KDX gain rapid configuration and implementation at a reduced cost, as well as an easy upgrade path to the ePic KDS should business requirements advance in the future. As part of the ConnectSmart® Hospitality Automation Solution, QSR also offers the ConnectSmart Kitchen (CSK) graphical software for operators looking to fully control screen real estate while taking advantage of enhanced colors, multiple fonts and font sizes, and graphical menu cards.

Continuously innovating technologies for the kitchen, QSR also offers a totally integrated hospitality management system that links the heartbeat of the restaurant – the kitchen – with front-of-house activities to maximize efficiencies and guest delight. First debuted at FS/TEC 2005, ConnectSmart Hostess not only interfaces to the leading point-of-sale systems, but also gains intelligence from a real-time link to critical production information to provide truly accurate wait times and the ability to manage the total guest experience. With the latest enhancements on display, ConnectSmart Hostess is a revolutionary table management application enabling operators to successfully increase seat utilization and table turns while meeting time commitments and satisfying guest preferences. And debuting at this year’s exhibit is ConnectSmart Reservations, a fully integrated software module which will be available in the first half of 2007.

In addition to the extensive kitchen software choices to meet specific business needs, QSR makes available four kitchen hardware options. As part of the demonstrations, QSR will highlight the newest models of its ePic video controllers and eXpert® hospitality controller, which were made available earlier this year. Built to thrive in harsh hospitality environments, these newest model controllers provide a new sleek and compact enclosure with faster processor speeds. Additionally, the ePic controller now offers an option to run the Microsoft® Windows® CE operating system to power QSR’s CSK, or for those users with the need to support international character sets or browser-based applications in the kitchen. Operators who have the added requirements of multi-media functionality or the need to run desktop applications in the kitchen depend on the eXpert controller running the Microsoft® Windows® XP Embedded operating system. And with the new eXpertONE™ hospitality system, users can take advantage of an all-in-one kitchen video controller and touch screen monitor that leverages the proven technology of QSR’s eXpert controller within an attractive, easy-to-implement package. With its stainless steel enclosure and industrialized design, the eXpertONE is ideal for open or display kitchens – and can also be used virtually anywhere in any kitchen where touch can benefit the environment.

“We are excited to celebrate our ten year anniversary with our ninth exhibit at FS/TEC, where we are showcasing our newest innovations in kitchen software and hardware as well as our powerful table management applications,” said Lee Leet, president and chief executive officer for QSR Automations. “In working with the leading hospitality operators over these past ten years, we have seen a real need for automation within a number of critical areas that are not being managed by the point-of-sale or backoffice systems. And because we empower our users to truly manage their kitchen – which is the real heart of the restaurant – we are in a unique position to continue to evolve our connected solutions to provide hospitality companies with the sophisticated tools they need to truly delight their guests while achieving their business goals.”
