Sand Palace Motel Gets Results with atrium™ PMS

ICSS (INN-Client Server Systems), one of the only property management system developers that owns and manages hotels and resorts, announced that Sand Palace Motel, Dewey Beach, Del., the first property to select the company’s new atrium™ property management system, experienced a 20 percent increase in revenue compared to the prior year.

Implementation commenced in June 2006, and in just four months the motel saw dramatic results due to use of atrium’s robust rate management functionality, according to Everett Wodiska, general manager of Sand Palace Motel. The small vacation destination property converted from a paper to a software system in just four days and credits atrium’s intuitive simplicity and ease of training as reasons for its rapid revenue increase.
 
“atrium’s rate management and tape chart features helped maximize occupancy and rates immediately because the system is very visual; it’s easy to see and to move people from one room to another in a couple of clicks,” said Wodiska, who is also experienced with computer programming and other property management systems. “On a paper system it took four manual steps to perform a single transaction; our staff got lazy.  Rather than do the work to change rooms, they would say we were full.”
 
The system has more than paid for itself in a very short time which is important for a small, seasonal property, he added. Wodiska said management evaluated other solutions and found the ICSS atrium™ system’s cost-value to be the highest.
