Digital signage and interactive media veteran Jeff Dowell has joined LG Electronics USA Business Solutions as vice president of digital signage.

In this newly created position reporting to LG Electronics President Teddy Hwang, Dowell will be responsible for driving sales growth in this key business-to-business (B2B) area for LG in the United States.  He will be based in Lincolnshire, Ill., U.S. headquarters for LG Electronics Business Solutions.

Dowell will oversee content-partner development and sales for digital signage. He will work closely with LG Commercial Products Vice President Ron Snaidauf, who is responsible for LG’s B2B sales channels such as hospitality, lodging, healthcare and education.

“With more than 20 years of experience in digital signage, touch screens and interactive media, Jeff brings a deep understanding and expertise to this new role,” said Hwang. “His new position illustrates our commitment to the digital signage marketplace, which is a major B2B focus for LG both in the U.S and around the world.”

Dowell joins LG from 3M where he was most recently global sales manager for 3M’s digital out-of-home business unit.  During his tenure at 3M beginning in 2006, he was responsible for vertical markets, go-to-market initiatives, product development, competitive positioning and worldwide partnership alliances. Previously, from 1997-2006, Dowell held a number of senior marketing, sales and product development roles at Clarity Visual Systems.

The company sold touch screen kiosks and early Web site development services directly to Fortune 1000 companies throughout North America, as well as through marketing communication and in-store sales promotion firms.

“With terrific technology and a solid reputation already, LG has the opportunity to become a dominant player in the digital signage industry,” said Dowell, “I am emboldened by the opportunity to work for such a strong company and am eager to apply my ability to spot trends, market needs and opportunities to help grow the business.”

Dowell earned his bachelor of science degree at Indiana State University, in Terre Haute, Ind.
