Adaco Celebrates 25 Years of Serving the Hospitality Industry and Reaching the Milestone of Processing $5 Billion in Annual Purchasing Through Eclipse Software

The company was formed in 1984 by Thomas Metzen and Patrick DiPronio, who left their positions at Marriott as senior managers to follow their vision and create software for the hospitality industry.  This software would monitor purchasing, inventory and operations, as well as procurement and reporting, enabling the industry to maximize profits and minimize losses.

In 1985, Adaco installed its first food and beverage management software at the Hotel Du Pont, which proved a huge success. Based on this experience, Adaco premiered its new software at the Atlanta HITEC show, in April 1986. The product found immense acceptance and was soon installed at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, the Doral Hotel in Miami Beach and the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.

Adaco achieved a major breakthrough in 1988 when Sheraton chose Adaco to be its corporate standard over 29 other purchasing and operational control systems. Since 1988, Adaco has accumulated a growing list of clients winning contracts with Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels, Four Seasons, Sheraton, Westin, Sandals International, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and many others.

Adaco Eclipse™, the company’s flagship software, was designed to simplify centralized management of multiproperty hotel operations.   Its leading-edge technical platform includes purchasing, receiving, storeroom requisition, inventory control, operational control and analysis, recipe and beverage revenue enhancement, accounting and corporate management.

Adaco Emporium™ is a comprehensive retail software package that automates procurement, manages materials, analyzes profitability and much more.  The software monitors customer buying patterns to ensure the right buying decisions are made, eliminating costly and unnecessary hand-counts.  It is flexible and can be used with a variety of point-of-sale systems.
