Kaba Holding AG, the parent of Kaba Ilco Inc. (Lodging Systems) has confirmed the acquisition of Computerized Security Systems (CSS) of Troy, Michigan from Masco Corporation of Taylor, Michigan.

CSS’s SAFLOK brand is among the technology leaders in locking systems for the lodging industry.

The acquisition of SAFLOK and their full range of access control solutions will complement Kaba product lines and result in a broader offering to all segments of the lodging and commercial access control markets. SAFLOK and Kaba products service a broad range of hospitality segments on a worldwide basis. In addition they are major suppliers to the vacation rental market, the multi housing market, commercial, military and government facilities.

“SAFLOK brings many new opportunities to reinforce and expand our Total Access strategy.” stated Frank Belflower, COO Kaba Access Systems – Americas. “The resulting R&D and manufacturing synergies will allow us to offer individual market segments, highly targeted, state-of-the-art access control solutions.” He added.

“In the Lodging industry Kaba and SAFLOK have traditionally focused on different segments of the market. The coordination of our efforts will strengthen both operations, allowing a partnership approach in addressing this very broad playing field.” stated Kerry Hirschy, SAFLOK’s Senior Vice President of Sales.

“The two companies are developing integration plans that will complement technologies, address each market segment, and identify best practices from both operations.  A business as usual course is being plotted; no disruption to current product lines, infrastructure and path to market. Our first priority is giving the customer quality product and service,” added Belflower.
