Hyatt Renews Group Reservations Partnership with Passkey

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced its decision to renew its partnership with Passkey, the worldwide leader in online group reservations.

The renewed partnership will enable Hyatt to continue offering Passkey's award-winning online group reservation system to its planner customers, and highlights the added value and competitive advantage Passkey brings to Hyatt's hotels and its planners. Most of Hyatt's group hotels in the U.S. are 'Powered by Passkey'.

These hotels offer Passkey to their planners at no cost to the planner. Passkey has been successfully used for all types of events, from weddings, family reunions and corporate meetings to seminars, tradeshows and conferences.

Since deploying Passkey as its online group reservation solution in 2003, Hyatt has doubled its Passkey group reservations each year, generating more than $2.7 billion in room revenue alone. Hyatt is on pace to book more than 1.5 million room nights in Passkey in 2006. Importantly, online bookings have increased by over 30% since the Passkey implementation.

Regarding the decision to renew their Passkey partnership, Hyatt's vice president of catering and convention services, Steve Enselein commented, "This is a great partnership from Hyatt's perspective as it mirrors our corporate mantra and ongoing drive to adopt tools that will make it easier for planners to do business with our hotels. Passkey enables corporate, association and independent planners having their events at Hyatt to deliver more successful events and gain greater control over their room blocks: Attendees can make and manage their hotel reservations online at event-specific web portals, and planners can access real-time pick-up reports to help them optimize their room blocks and contracts.

Another key Passkey advantage is its built-in direct connectivity to hotels' reservation systems (both CRS and PMS), as well as direct connectivity to event registration systems. This enables event planners, hotels and delegates to enjoy a seamless group reservation process, from event registration to hotel reservation, delivering reservations directly to hotels' internal systems.
There are 217 Hyatt branded hotels and resorts (over 90,000 rooms) in 43 countries around the world, operating under the Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt brands. Currently, there are an additional 47 Hyatt hotels and resorts under development, including 11 new hotels in China.
