Genares Worldwide Reservation ServicesSM Ltd., one of the hotel industry’s newest and fastest-growing global representation and reservations companies, announced the hiring of Robert Bayless as chief technology officer.

Bayless joins Genares after serving as vice president of reservation technologies for Pegasus Solutions. Prior to Pegasus, Bayless was a founding partner and vice president of technology for Unirez, where he created, developed and managed the company’s reservation platform.

“I am thrilled to add a true innovator in the hospitality technology industry to the Genares team, as Robert was involved in creating one of the first fully developed Web-based applications for hoteliers. I am confident Genares will benefit greatly from Robert’s knowledge and expertise,” said President Eugene Harris.

This will be Bayless and Harris’ second collaboration, as the two were together at Lexington Services during the 1990s. Under the leadership of Ricky A. Wilkins and Michael G. Wilkins, the company grew to the second-largest representation company in the world.

“I am very excited to be joining such an esteemed company as Genares. In just five years, Eugene Harris and his partners have developed Genares into a worldwide leader due to their vision and hard work. I look forward to working with Eugene again and assisting the company with its continued innovation and exceptional growth,” said Bayless.

Genares Worldwide Reservation Services Ltd. was launched in 2004 by former Lexington Services Corp. founders and executives Ricky A. Wilkins and Michael G. Wilkins.
