HSMAI’S Affordable Meetings® 2010 Event Series, Call for Presentations Announced

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) announced the dates of its 2010 Affordable Meetings® Conference & Expositions and Event Technology Expo™ (ETE) at Affordable Meetings® National.

This highly acclaimed event series attracts more than 3,000 motivated planners from all sectors who attend looking for quality resources and education to enhance their meetings and events.

The 2010 HSMAI Affordable Meetings® series schedule is as follows:

  • Affordable Meetings® Mid-America
    April 14 – 15, 2010
    Navy Pier
    Chicago, Ill.
  • Affordable Meetings® West
    June 16 – 17, 2010
    Long Beach Convention Center
    Long Beach, Calif.
  • Affordable Meetings® National and Event Technology Expo (ETE)
    September 8 – 9, 2010
    Walter E. Washington Convention Center
    Washington, D.C.

HSMAI is currently seeking qualified presenters for the 2010 series and invites meeting professionals, industry consultants, professional speakers and trainers and industry suppliers to submit proposals.

“HSMAI's Affordable Meetings celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009 and HSMAI is now planning an exciting 21st year full of cutting-edge educational sessions for 2010,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “We want attendees to leave Affordable Meetings sessions with knowledge, ideas, tools and know-how that will help them excel in their jobs and bring value to their organizations.”

The Call for Presentations Submission Form must be completed in full and returned to affordablemeetings@jspargo.com by Friday, November 6, 2009 to be considered for the 2010 programs.

The 2010 series will also feature changes to the exhibit floor for an improved sales experience, based on exhibitor feedback from 2009. Regionally segmented areas will be clearly defined providing a more efficient use of exhibitor and meeting planner time. Also, four food and beverage pavilions will be scattered throughout the hall to further enhance traffic and add face-to-face time with meeting planners. Additional enhancements will be announced in the coming months.
