MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions to the hospitality and retail industries, debuted its new groundbreaking features available with the MICROS OPERA Enterprise Solution at the 2010 HITEC Convention in Orlando, Fla., last week.

The new features in OPERA include customer-facing technologies that will enhance the guest experience, streamline operations and allow hotels to become more environmentally friendly.

MICROS acquisition of TIG Global, one of the leading interactive marketing companies for the hospitality and travel industries worldwide, provides best-in-breed solutions to clients worldwide.  TIG Global provides superior interactive practices and online results through a suite of solutions including Web design and management, search engine optimization, social media and mobile marketing.  Travel is the most widely consummated transaction on the Internet today, and most travelers conduct their own travel purchases creating the need for a comprehensive end-to-end solution from a company with a deep understanding of the Internet consumer.

Reduce installation costs for OPERA Installations with the OPERA Hardware Solution. This solution offers all hotels the opportunity to purchase an all inclusive OPERA server, that will be delivered to the hotel pre-configured with OPERA, the MICROS Disaster Recovery, and the MICROS Back Up Solution. Each server bundle is sized according to the number of co-current users. The OPERA Hardware Solution comes in either tower or rack options to suit the hotels needs.

MICROS offers the hotel industry various remote and mobile applications that assist guests and hoteliers with checkin and out procedures. Guests can bypass the front desk using the OPERA Kiosk for a speedy experience or check in using OPERA’s MyStayManager on their smart phone. OPERA’s MyStayManager allows guests to manage their hotel reservations and travel itineraries from their mobile devices. Imagine a guest that is staying at your property making reservations, receiving real-time updates relevant to their stay, accessing essential travel services and information, and selecting from the unique activities and services your hotel offers - all through their smartphone.  MyStayManager will even allow the guest to order room service input directly into the hotel’s MICROS point-of-sale system, delivering the order straight to the kitchen or bar.

Additionally, the hotel’s front desk agents can assist hotel guests by using the Tablet Kiosk, enabling roaming checkin and out throughout the hotel including electronic signature capture and powerful interfaces with innovative door locking systems.

Hotel guests can checkin and checkout with their mobile phone and open their room door regardless of cell phone type.  Integration alliance allows hotels to offer a host of mobile services before, during and after a guest stay.  OpenWays, a global developer of mobile-based access management and guest service solutions for the hospitality industry has joined forces with MICROS Systems to better respond to the exploding demand by hoteliers for leveraging cell phone technology and its related infrastructure to offer better service to the guest.

Through seamless integration with MICROS Guest Connection and our premier activities partner, OpenCourse, the OPERA Resort Activity Dashboard, provides a central location for hotel agents to schedule guest activities, such as dining reservations, spa appointments, rental items and golf tee times. From a single screen, you can quickly book a reservation and schedule all activities for a guest.

The OPERA WebProposal is one of the industry’s first fully integrated electronic Web proposal systems. Designed and engineered by MICROS, the OPERA WebProposal is hosted by MICROS to reduce any concerns about PCI compliancy or network growth. This new application will integrate with your OPERA application eliminating any double entry of data and producing a polished and professional HTML proposal for your guests.
