EasyRMS Partners With Regal Hotels International For All Six Hong Kong Properties

Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions Ltd. (EasyRMS) announced a premier, multiproperty contract secured in Hong Kong.

Regal Hotels International is one of the largest hotel operators in Hong Kong and one of the latest new groups to be added to the ever-expanding EasyRMS client list. The group has contracted initially for its six Hong Kong properties, which include Regal Airport Hotel, Regal Hongkong Hotel, Regal Kowloon Hotel, Regal Oriental Hotel, Regal Riverside Hotel and the newly opened Regal iClub Hotel. Regal Hotels has around 6,000 guestrooms and more than 50 restaurants and bars in its portfolio. The group also operates four additional properties in China, and two more are scheduled to open later this year.

This latest deal sees the six Hong Kong properties, with a total of over 3,800 rooms between them, implementing the EzRMS™ Core Module, Ez-QUOTE™ and Ez-REGION™, as well as the extraction interface to Regal Hotels’ own bespoke PMS.

Kingsley Loh, group director of revenue for Regal Hotels, said, “This is a giant step forward for us as we move into the area of revenue management. We are hoping to gain incremental revenues of 5-8 percent per annum with the installation.”

Kingsley said that EzRMS™ was chosen above any other system mainly for its ease of use and its reporting flexibility. “It is also more cost effective than its major competitors,” he added.

In terms of specific benefits of the solution for Regal Hotels, Kingsley said, “With EzRMS™, many man hours are saved in retrieving, consolidating and comparing historical, on-the-books and future data. In this way, our revenue managers can focus on the job at hand – revenue managing the hotel and maximizing the hotel’s revenues.”

Anita Chan is managing director of Hong Kong-based Compass Edge, consulting service provider of electronic distribution marketing products, services and tools to independent and chain hotels in Asia Pacific, and an EzRMS™ distributor since April 2009. She said, “A revenue management system is obviously one area that hotels in this region can benefit greatly from, if engaging positively.”

“EzRMS™ uses scientific forecasting techniques and red flags possible revenue opportunities for hotels that could be a few months out. By using EzRMS™, Regal properties will gain a clear headstart over their competitors,” she said. 

Chan added that the comprehensive reporting tool within the software will save each property a lot of time and resources, so managers can focus instead on strategy.
