Utell Hotels & Resorts has signed a three-year contract with Italy’s notable Hotel Due Torri in Verona, Veneto for full-service global marketing, sales and distribution services.

The 14th Century hotel represents Utell’s first five-star hotel in Verona, expanding even further its growing 200-plus Italian hotel portfolio.

Situated a stone’s throw from the balcony that immortalized star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet, the Hotel Due Torri has hosted famous guests such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Wolfgang Goethe, as well as events such as the coronation in exile of Louis XVII of France.

“Our hotel’s appeal lies in its multicentury heritage as a backdrop to history,” said Vittorio Morelli, general manager of the Hotel Due Torri. “Similarly, our decision to work with Utell embraces their rich heritage as the world’s most experienced hotel representation service. Through such unrivaled tradition and mutual understanding we guarantee ongoing and effective visibility with our buying public worldwide.”

As a Utell member, the Hotel Due Torri will benefit from Utell’s extensive and proven business-generating relationships with the majority of the world’s major travel agencies, as well as preferred agreements with major TMCs (travel management companies), online distributors, corporations and consortia groups. The property will also gain access to a complete range of powerful competitive intelligence tools, award-winning Web services, market-leading reservations and booking technology services, all powered by Pegasus Solutions and provided to Utell members.

“We’re beyond delighted to welcome the prestigious Hotel Due Torri to our international and Italian portfolios,” said Avelina Iglesias, vice president of sales and account management in EMEA for Utell Hotels & Resorts. “We’re eager to bring the benefits of Utell membership to this incredible historic property, especially knowing how in-demand a five-star property located in Verona’s historic center will be to travelers across the globe.”
