Copenhagen Boutique Hotel Turns to EzRMS™ to Optimize Room and Other Ancillary Revenues

Easy (Ez) Revenue Management Solutions Ltd. (EasyRMS), a global provider of solutions and services in the area of hospitality revenue and yield management worldwide, continues its expansion in Scandinavia with a privately owned, city center property.

The agreement highlights how an automated revenue management system is as effective for smaller, independent hotels as it is for large groups, offering the same opportunities to optimize room and ancillary revenues at all times.

Bertrams Hotel Guldsmeden is an intimate boutique hotel with nearly 50 guestrooms in Copenhagen’s fashionable district of Vesterbro, and is close to convenient, local and intercity transport links.

Nikolas Hall is about to complete his first year as owner of the property, having taken it over in October 2009 from the founders of the Hotel Guldsmeden chain. In order to take full advantage of market potential for his business, he set about looking for an automated revenue management system. Since Hall was first shown EzRMS™ by Raïssa Goubin, London-based European sales manager for the firm, he demonstrated great enthusiasm for the software.

Hall took very little time to come to a final decision, and has now implemented the EzRMS™ Core Module, including an upload interface to ChannelDirect. Bertrams Hotel uses the AK Techotel PMS and thus benefits from a new extraction interface developed by EasyRMS for full integration at the property.

“My expectations for the system are high,” he said. “As proprietor of a small property, I believe that tools such as EzRMS™ enable me to fully understand and maximize market potential - instead of guessing my way through with a manual system.”

Hall feels that EzRMS is not a tool that can only be utilized by huge properties and hotel chains. “If smaller, privately held properties -  which usually make up the majority of any city’s capacity - also start to use tools such as these, the entire industry will benefit, and we will avoid unnecessary price wars and price dumping,” he said.

It was his own background in revenue management that was behind Hall’s decision to work with EasyRMS, and also, “knowing that I have a powerful tool to substantiate my forecasts enables me to avoid hitting the panic button,” he said.
