To accommodate guests for its skiing, skating and other venues, in December 2010, Jay Peak Resort will have two hotels and 342 ownership units totaling 569 units/rooms overall and open an additional hotel.

An essential tool that supports the resort’s expansion is its NORTHWIND-Maestro PMS technology platform.  Jay Peak operates its entire resort and condo-timeshare business, including its online reservation and ownership accounting, on one centralized Maestro Multi-Property Management system and single database.

“It is always high season at Jay Peak,” said Susan Jones, lodging bureau director for Jay Peak Resort.  “With our new venues, hotels, and the best skiing in the Eastern U.S., we are busy year-round.”  Jones oversees the Maestro hotel software that supports the resort’s operation.  “We have more than 300 ownership units that share the same property management and condo-ownership accounting system as our hotels. This enables us to track and sell all rooms for our hotels and rental pool in the Maestro resort software from one screen for faster attention to guest requests and maximum staff productivity.”

Maestro also strengthens Jay Peak’s substantial Web presence.  The system lets guests book rooms and packages online with Maestro’s ResWave booking engine which also makes it possible for condominium owners to monitor their unit’s performance, view financial statements and reserve their units remotely from their browser.

“About 75 percent of our owners have units in our rental pool and we manage their sales with all our hotel rooms on Maestro.  With availability, optimized room rates, ownership accounting, and online marketing and room reservations coordinated we can sell to the last room for any property from any reservation channel confidently,” Jones said.

“Our winter guests are serious skiers and we use the Maestro Analytics data mining module to create e-mail promotions for visitors with specific interests, like Christmas skiing,” Jones said.  The Resort mines its guest history database to create targeted e-mail lists for specific promotions so only guest who have expressed an interest in an event receive the mail.

“This type of targeted e-mail promotion distribution is much more effective than e-mail blasts that reach everyone,” Jones explained.  “Maestro is the perfect system platform for a multiproperty hotel and ownership destination.”

At IHM&RS in New York November 13–16 visit NORTHWIND-Maestro at booth No. 3056.
