NORTHWIND, provider of Maestro™ Enterprise Property Management hotel software and reservation software solutions for some of the industry’s leading independent hotels, resorts and multiproperty groups, concluded its largest ever Maestro Users Conference on September 24, 2010.

This year’s conference held at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, Conn., focused on driving revenue with advanced Maestro mobile and Web-based technologies and attracted operators from around the world.

“Our users conferences are an opportunity for the NORTHWIND team to provide its client family with the latest, most effective Maestro tools and services to increase occupancy and revenue,” said Audrey MacRae,  a principal at NORTHWIND-Maestro PMS.  “Our focus this year was to give our operators innovative methods to promote their properties on the Web and motivate guests to book directly on their Website while also creating a forum for users to learn from each other.  In addition, we offered processes on how operators can apply Maestro’s new mobile-ready Web reservations functionality and social media tools to enhance their online marketing strategies.”

“Whenever I attend Maestro conferences l walk away with best practices that are extremely valuable,” said Dennis Morris, director of revenue development for Meyer Jabara Hotels.  “NORTHWIND’s new mobile wireless checkin and online GEM, Guest Experience Measurement, guest survey solutions will enable our properties to deliver above and beyond current strategies.”

“My interest is selling more online and Maestro showed me several good strategies for using special landing pages for weddings and other events,” said John Shearer, revenue manager of 696-room Hooters Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.  “We use Maestro’s ResEze booking engine now and will upgrade to the ResWave engine soon.  I am hoping for a 15-20 percent Website room night increase once we implement ResWave.  NORTHWIND will also host our booking site with the added benefit that their team will build our landing pages and online promotion pages.  This will enable us to sell additional services online such as our show tickets and MMA/boxing events, driving more commission-free revenue directly to our site.”

“The users conference was a great opportunity to learn how others are using the Maestro system to run their businesses more profitably,” said Heather Hennessey, controller for Water’s Edge Resort and Spa. “The Internet sessions were focused on profit and improving revenue; and the lessons on using social networks to market more effectively were timely.  The classes on how to use Maestro’s mobile marketing and iPad capabilities were particularly valuable for our industry today.”

“The Maestro User Group Conference was a very productive event our team,” said Cathy Geisler, reservations manager for Banff Lodging Company.  “We definitely came away with ideas that will improve our overall use of Maestro. It was also reassuring to see our enhancement requests being put into motion and we are excited about the direction that Maestro is moving with software development.”

“The big benefit for me was talking with other Maestro users and learning how they use the system to operate more productively.  It was great being able to network with other operators to exchange ideas,” said Venita Yelly, hotel division director of MCM Family of Hotels that operates seven properties.

Westminster Hotel’s reservations manager, Stephanie Dare, said, "It was my first conference and I learned our Maestro system offers many more features than we are using now.  Every aspect of NORTHWIND’s event was highly educational, professionally handled, and a pleasure to attend."

"The conference will be remembered as a great success by all who attended, and a good share of the credit for its success goes to our valued Maestro clients,” said NORTHWIND’s MacRae.  “The exchange of ideas among Maestro users, industry experts from HeBS, Shift4, Elavon, Navicom and Genares, and the NORTHWIND team provided valuable information that we will incorporate to help us shape the future of Maestro.”
