A day after Dollywood won the industry’s coveted Applause Award, Dollywood’s live entertainment won two International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) Brass Ring Awards for Excellence in Live Entertainment.

With 17 Brass Ring Awards, Dollywood has won more than any other theme park in the world.

The Gemtones won for Best Atmosphere/Street Performer and Imaginé produced by Le Grand Cirque won Best Overall Production in its category, while Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of Blue Smoke claimed Honorable Mention. In all, Dollywood entertainment was a finalist in eight categories.

The awards were presented on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the annual IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Fla.

Imaginé headlined the park’s 2010 Festival of Nations, Dollywood’s annual springtime event. The Gemtones, a five-member a capella group, performs ‘50s and ‘60s music in Dollywood’s Jukebox Junction area.

“Our live entertainment at Dollywood absolutely sets us apart from any other park in the world,” Dolly Parton said. “I know our shows played a big role in helping Dollywood win the Applause Award, and now getting two Brass Ring Awards for our live entertainment just makes this year, our 25th anniversary, even more special for me and our entire Dollywood family.”

IAAPA is one of the largest international trade associations for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide. The organization represents more than 4,500 facility, supplier, and individual members from more than 90 countries.
