Pegasus Solutions has named David N. Sjolander, CHTP, vice president of product management for distribution services.

Sjolander, who comes to Pegasus from TRAVELCLICK, brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and technology industries. He will be responsible for product strategy and planning across Pegasus’ distribution services, used by approximately 90,000 hotels worldwide.

The announcement was made by Pegasus CEO Mike Kistner. “David brings an understanding of and passion for solving business problems through technology,” said Kistner. “He’s managed teams situated between the business and technology sides of the hospitality business, which is especially valuable to Pegasus due to the unique position we occupy addressing issues for both the supply and demand sides.”

Directly before his tenure as senior vice president of strategy and business development at TRAVELCLICK, Sjolander spent 15 years with Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, a Pegasus customer. At Carlson, he created the hotel systems department and led an initiative to standardize technology in more than 900 hotels in 70 countries, and introduced a fully integrated revenue management system.

A long-time member of Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP), Sjolander is also a past chairman of HITEC, a past chairman of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) technology committee, and a member of the executive advisory board for the University of Denver School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Denver and a Master in Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
