Recognizing that food service is an integral part of most boutique lodging operations, BLLA has gathered together luminary food experts and relevant media to participate in its first Food Trends Conference as an added service for a generally underserved sector in the hospitality industry – boutique and lifestyle lodgings.

The all-day conference, which will be held on Friday, January 14, at Hotel Monaco in San Francisco, will focus on all facets of the food industry and will also include discussions on design and equipment innovations, as well as offer panel discussions as to what new trends to expect in 2011 that will impact the boutiques/hospitality industry.

Founder of BLLA, Frances Kiradjian, said, "Staying abreast of what is new in the hospitality food sector, whether trends in serving, decor or taste selection, can be critical to where customers’ culinary dollars are spent and impact the ability to attract guests to eat on-site or in-room. This Food Trends Conference is offered in support of boutique and lifestyle lodgings’ ongoing needs to be at the cutting edge of the hospitality industry.  It falls in line with our mission to support the efforts of boutique and lifestyle lodgings to remain current, adhere to a high quality of standards and bolster their marketing efforts through these types of events that offer new insights to members and guests."

Speakers include Carleigh Connelly, executive editor, Culinary Trends Magazine; Andrew Freeman, a renowned food consultant and trends expert; John Inserra, executive in charge of overseeing all Kimpton Hotel Restaurants; Amy Machnak, Sunset Magazine; Jacques Bezuidenhout, master mixologist, Kimpton Hotels; Elvis Restaino, designer to the stars, who transitioned from designing movie sets.  The Design & Décor panel will be moderated by Claudia Juestel, Adeeni Design Group, and includes Cass Calder Smith, CCS Architecture; Jim Zack, Zack/de Vito ARCHITECTURE; Lisa Neimeth, tableware designer; and Bernard Otis, Kamran and Company.
