Mark Mahoney Named Vice President of Sales for Extended Stay Hotels Northeast Region

HVM LLC., which manages the 685-property Extended Stay Hotel chain, has named Mark D. Mahoney Vice President of Sales for the company’s Northeast Region.

The announcement was made by Mike Haaf, newly appointed chief marketing officer.

In his new role, Mr. Mahoney will be responsible for sales in the company’s Northeast region, which includes properties throughout the New England states, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Kentucky.

“We are pleased to have Mark with us as part of the Extended Stay Hotels family,” said Mr. Haaf, to whom Mr. Mahoney reports. “He will play a key role in invigorating sales, driving revenue and strengthening brand awareness within the northeast region. His contributions are expected to help the company reach significant new levels of growth and profitability and create a distinctive lodging experience for our guests.

“His prior experience and leadership have resulted in the growth of some of the most respected brands and properties in the hotel and lodging industry, and we look forward to the contributions he can make to Extended Stay Hotels,” Haaf said.

Mr. Mahoney has spent 20 years in the hotel and leisure industry, most recently as vice president, managing director and general manager of Red Lion Hotels. Mr. Mahoney’s responsibilities there included direct sales for the company’s properties across the United States and Canada; development and implementation of a major capital improvement plan and oversight of a more than 200-person sales team. He has also served in a number of senior sales, marketing and revenue enhancement roles for The Marcus Corporation, a leader in the lodging and entertainment industries; Boykin Management Company, a real estate investment trust that focuses on the ownership of full-service, upscale and resort hotels; and Meristar Hotels and Resorts, whose hotel properties include a number of well-known national brands.
