Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Eros Resorts & Hotels Ltd, a company of Eros Group, to manage two new properties in New Delhi's fast-growing business district of Mayur Vihar.

The agreement will see Hilton Worldwide's fourth Hilton Hotel & Resorts property in India, and the introduction of the first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in India. The properties are part of a twin-tower conversion project strategically located in India's capital city. Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar is scheduled to open within the next few months. The other building which is currently operating as an unbranded hotel will officially open as DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi - Mayur Vihar soon.

"Hilton Worldwide is one of the fastest-growing hotel companies in terms of deals signed globally. For 2010, we achieved a global pipeline that included 868 hotels and more than 138,000 rooms worldwide, making this one of the largest pipelines in our history and in the industry," said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton Worldwide.

He added, "We are focusing a significant amount of our development efforts in the Asia Pacific region - with 112 hotels and 32,916 rooms in the pipeline. We foresee phenomenal opportunities in India. We are expanding rapidly and will more than triple our presence in the country in the next two years - from four trading hotels to a total of 14, including these two properties signed with Eros Resorts & Hotels."

Satish Sood, managing director of Eros Resorts & Hotels Ltd from Eros Group said, "This collaboration with Hilton Worldwide will add depth and breadth to our hospitality portfolio. We will be able to bring world-class hotel facilities and services, and the traditional reputation of Indian hospitality to business and leisure travellers in New Delhi."

"We are pleased to introduce an outstanding Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotel product, as well as the first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in India's capital city. We believe that DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar and the Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar will become popular with today's modern travellers who are looking for a professional, yet relaxed, lively and refreshingly welcoming hotel experience," he added.

New Delhi has grown rapidly in its infrastructure development. The recent opening of the New International Airport together with the successful implementation of the mass transit Metro project have led to a growing number of leading global and domestic companies to establish their presence in the city, making it an increasingly important commercial destination.

Hilton Worldwide currently operates four hotels under two brands in three key cities in India. These include Hilton Janakpuri New Delhi, Hilton Mumbai International Airport, Hilton Chennai and Hilton Garden Inn Saket New Delhi.

Inclusive of these two new properties in New Delhi, Hilton Worldwide expects to open a total of 10 new hotels by 2012, including five Hilton Hotels & Resorts, three DoubleTree by Hiltons, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Hampton by Hilton. These properties are located in key Indian cities and hospitality markets including New Delhi, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Baroda.

To date, Hilton Worldwide has more than 20 properties under various stages of development across its portfolio of brands in India. Details of these pipeline properties will be announced together with the owners at the appropriate time.
