Fidelio Property Management Systems (PMS) founder, Keith Gruen, will be presenting the luncheon speech at Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals’ (HFTP) inaugural European Hospitality Technology Education Conference (EHTEC) on February 20, 2007 at the Hilton Amsterdam in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Gruen’s speech, "PMS: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," will cover the recent history of PMS development. He will also discuss why the industry has lost its edge and how it might gain it back again.

"PMSs are an integral component to hospitality operations and the systems have been forced to adapt to changing technology," said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP CEO and executive vice president. "Luncheon attendees will have the chance to hear first-hand from the creator of one of the industry’s leading PMSs about what PMSs have to offer their company."

Gruen sold Fidelio Software GmbH to Micros Systems Inc. in 1995. He went on to found other companies, including NXN Digital Entertainment GmbH, which was sold to Avid Technology Inc. in 2004, and Kappa I.T. Ventures, a venture capital firm that advises European and American technology firms towards an IPO or trade sale.

He is currently an executive at conject AG in Munich, Germany, a company specializing in software for the real estate and construction industries. He leads expansion, international growth, acquisitions, new product strategy and financing.

EHTEC, February 18 – 20, will be an intimate gathering of Europe’s top hospitality professionals, offering a first-rate educational program presented by industry experts and academics. Delegates will discuss the most pressing challenges facing hospitality technology in Europe.

The EHTEC education program includes session topics such as:
  • What's on Hospitality CIO's Agendas in 2007?
  • Telecoms Within EMEA
  • Generating Revenue On In-Room Technology
  • The Impact of European Legislation on Hospitality IT
