Second Cup Selects MICROS’ Affordable Enterprise Solution

MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, announced that Canada’s largest specialty café franchisor and second largest retailer of specialty coffee, The Second Cup Ltd. (“Second Cup”), has selected MICROS as its exclusive and preferred restaurant technology provider.

 Nearly 170 locations are installed with the MICROS e7 restaurant point-of-sale (POS) system and restaurant enterprise system. The roll-out will continue with an additional 130 locations over the next few months.

What began as a shopping mall kiosk has expanded to a franchise with over 350 cafés featuring a full product line of 25 premium coffees, specialty beverages, complementary foods, and merchandise items. To help manage the orders of thousands of daily guests, Second Cup required an intuitive restaurant POS system that was affordable for the cafés, easy to install to minimize the disruption to business flow, yet customizable to reflect Second Cup’s specific requirements.
