PSAV was awarded in four categories at the Telly Awards, where television, video, Web and film production honors are selected from an average of 13,000 worldwide entries each year.

Judged by the Silver Telly Council, made up of previous award-winners and other industry peers, PSAV’s Creative Services team walked away with two Silver awards, Telly’s highest honor.

“We are fortunate to have an extremely talented team who, day in and day out, work very hard at their craft in support of our clients’ communication needs,” said Augie Dellapi, PSAV SVP of operations. “To be recognized by the committee is very gratifying and a reassuring sign that we’re heading in the right direction.”

The first Silver was awarded for cinematography to My Name is Joe, an exhibition film about ALS. The second Silver was awarded for the cultural category to A Different Vision, a documentary-style piece for a prominent medical association.

PSAV’s two Bronze Telly Awards were received for additional media produced on behalf of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2010 and 2011.

Eric Benson, the team’s lead digital media producer, said, “Opportunities to tell our clients’ stories are best communicated through documentary and film, and we are very pleased that our capabilities in these styles have been recognized.”

While it is a rare honor for a small production team to win a single silver Telly in one year, PSAV’s two silver awards puts them in a select crowd along with media and entertainment giants such as NBC Universal, Harpo Studios, ESPN, Microsoft, and Discovery Channel.

“We are committed to providing thought-provoking, strategically planned communication that can extend the life of an event," said Christian Wright, PSAV’s director of digital media. "Content that is both on message and entertaining will stick with the audience, whether they are watching live or on an iPad.”
