Shift4 Corporation, one of the world's largest card-present payment gateways, and NOVEXSYS, LLC, are proud to announce an integration that will allow users of the NOVEXSYS Property Management System (PMS) to completely remove the PMS from the scope of PCI compliance audits.
While NOVEXSYS' previous gateway solution allowed merchants to avoid processing and storing cardholder data (CHD) within the PMS, they were still required to transmit that data through their systems to processors and banks.
"We are very concerned about all of our customers' security," said NOVEXSYS President Steve Woodward. "Taking this last compliance concern — the transmitting — out of the equation is something we felt was very important."
Adding Shift4's DOLLARS ON THE NET® gateway enabled them to remove that final element of CHD from their PMS, effectively removing the PMS from their merchants' scope of PCI audits.
"NOVEXSYS has always had a mind for security in their application," said Bob Lowe, Shift4's Vice President of Business Development. "We at Shift4 are very pleased to help them with this additional safeguard to their system and to bring this advanced security and peace of mind to their merchant end-users."
It was actually the support of one of those merchants that brought this integration to completion. Janet Darnall of Strand Development has been a long-time client of Shift4. When her organization recently acquired a new property that was running NOVEXSYS, Darnall knew what needed to be done.
"When reviewing the system at a new property, two criteria are looked at: PCI compliance, and if they are partnered with Shift4," Darnall said. "This system wasn't, but when we called NOVEXSYS and learned that they were only hours from certification with Shift4, we were very excited."
Darnall encouraged both sides to dive in and the certification was quickly completed. Now available to all NOVEXSYS customers, the benefits of Darnall's request extend far beyond Strand Development's new property.
"There is not a better choice for NOVEXSYS to partner with than Shift4 — and I'm sure it will be a powerful selling point for both of them," Darnall said.
