iBAHN, a global leader in IP-based entertainment and information services for the hospitality and meeting industries, and Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC), the B2B arm of Time Warner Cable, today announced a new offering of enhanced television services for hotels, which is now premiering at Dream Downtown in New York City.

Delivered via iBAHN’s industry-leading ETVi platform, this solution offers full-screen, high-definition (HD) access to the Web, in-room entertainment, and more than 60 available HD television channels, provided over fiber by TWCBC's new HD Video for Hospitality offering.

The chic Dream Downtown hotel is among the first to implement the enhanced service, thereby delivering on guests’ demands for the best entertainment and a distinctive luxury hotel experience.

“We are dedicated to delivering innovative hotel entertainment and information solutions, allowing our hotel clientele to provide the very latest technology to their guests and increase revenue through in-room touch points,” said Roger Crellin, iBAHN president of Americas. “By working with Time Warner Cable Business Class, we are able to deliver what travelers demand by offering a reliable Internet connection, more HD channels than competing providers, and the ability for guests to access the Internet over the TV without having to connect their laptop. These innovations empower our hotel clients to differentiate themselves among discerning travelers.”

iBAHN-commissioned research shows that nearly half of travelers (49 percent) who experience a slow Internet connection indicate that it will affect their choice of lodging for future business travel. Further, 70 percent watch HD channels on the in-room TV, and more than half (55 percent) connect their laptop with the TV in order to watch streaming video from the Internet.

“Our HD Video for Hospitality package is an attractively-priced solution offering extensive, popular HD video programming, which is critical to guest satisfaction,” said Ken Fitzpatrick, president of east region, Time Warner Cable Business Class. “With our service on iBAHN’s ETVi platform, guests at Dream Downtown can enjoy a popular and wide selection of HD programming or surf the Web without having to open or bring a laptop. These added conveniences help make Dream Downtown even better positioned to attract more customers who expect the latest and best technology and entertainment.”

“Our guests demand the best, and we are committed to meeting their expectations at every turn, including exceeding what they experience in their own homes,” said Michael Lindenbaum, managing director of Dream Downtown and vice president of operations for Hampshire Hotels & Resorts. “Time Warner Cable with iBAHN allows us to delight our visitors with a rich lineup of HD television channels and access to the Web via the TV. Starting the moment the guest enters their room, we are able to extend the Dream Downtown brand interaction and service standards through the television by leveraging the ETVi platform.”
