G2E 2011 Highlights and Special Events

Next week, Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2011 is expected to draw more than 26,000 industry professionals to Las Vegas to explore industry innovations from around the world and get a first-hand look at the future-minded ideas that are changing the business of gaming.

G2E 2011, the gaming industry's premier international trade show and conference event, will be held Oct. 4-6 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas.

G2E is organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions. G2E made its debut in fall 2001 as the first and only gaming trade show and conference event designed "by the industry, for the industry."

Show Floor: More than 440 leading gaming industry vendors, including more than 80 international exhibitors from 24 different countries, will showcase their products and services before key purchasing decision makers in more than 250,000 square feet of exhibit space.

This is the first year for G2E at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, having moved from the Las Vegas Convention Center. To take full advantage of the new space, the show floor has been completely reconfigured into a grid system with move-through aisles and Las Vegas street signs to help attendees navigate the show floor.

Conference: 135 conference sessions will focus on this year's theme of "seizing your competitive edge and driving customers to your property through innovation, new media, and operational excellence" and feature more than 330 speakers, including many first-time G2E speakers. The G2E 2011 Conference also will feature the newly re-designed Thursday conference program, "Insights on Operations," which focuses on player tracking and building loyalty for gaming and non-gaming patrons. 

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: The G2E 2011 show floor will open at the completion of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4 at
9:45 a.m.

Keynotes: All three keynotes will be held in the Titian Ballroom (Level 2).

  • Tuesday, Oct. 4, 10:30 a.m. -Magician and comedian, Penn Jillette.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 5, 10:30 a.m. - Innovating for a Stronger Future - Judy Patterson, senior vice president and executive director of the American Gaming Association (AGA); Patti Hart, president and CEO of International Game Technology (IGT); Jan L. Jones, senior vice president of communications and government relations at Caesars Entertainment, Inc.; Virginia McDowell, president and COO of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.; Sheila Morago, executive director of the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association; and Akiko Takahashi, corporate social responsibility officer, executive VP and chief human resources officer at Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd.
  • Thursday, Oct. 6., 10:30 a.m. - Tribal Gaming Roundtable: The Indian Casino of the Future - Roger Gros, publisher of Global Gaming Business; Gideon Bierer, executive vice president of interactive for International Game Technology (IGT); Mark Birtha, president and chief development officer of SOL Casino / AVA Amphitheater; Charles "Chief" Boyd, partner at Thalden-Boyd-Emery Architects; and Rochanne L. Hackett, managing director of national gaming development at Wells Fargo Bank N.A.

Exclusive Conference Keynote: The conference keynote is for conference delegates only and will be held in the Titian Ballroom (Level 2).

    Murren, chairman and chief executive officer of MGM Resorts International.

Show Specials: More than 65 companies exhibiting the latest innovations in gaming will offer exclusive show specials to G2E 2011 attendees. Food, Beverage & Hospitality (FB&H) and the Entertainment Arena: FB&H and the Entertainment Arena at G2E will showcase the broad range of products, technologies and services that help create amazing non-gaming experiences at casinos around the country. These specialty show floor areas will be complemented by a number of special events and exhibits, such as:
  • Fine Wines & Cocktails Ultra Lounge, sponsored by Southern Wine & Spirits of America.
  • Ultra Lounge Uniform Fashion Show, sponsored by CINTAS and featuring today's hottest uniforms from CINTAS and ultra lounges on the Las Vegas Strip. The fashion show will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Entertainment Showcase Stage & Networking Happy Hours, featuring new musical artists and comedians onstage Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Latin American Gaming Networking Lounge & Reception: Network and connect with Latin American operators at a reception on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 4:00
  • 5:30 p.m., and visit the Latin American Gaming Network Lounge during regular floor hours.

Social Media Boot Camp-NEW!: Learn how to fully integrate or refine social media strategies into traditional casino marketing efforts, as well as how to measure quantifiable results. Experts will share best practices and examples from casino social media efforts from across the country and be on hand to answer questions about the latest approaches to casino marketing online.

iGaming Congress at G2E: This one-day conference will address the potential impact of Internet gambling legalization in the U.S. and advise the gaming market on how to react to the changing face of the industry. Information presented will appeal to existing offshore Internet gambling operators, commercial casinos, Native American casinos, manufactures and more.

NCRG at G2E: G2E is proud to team up with the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) once again this year to offer NCRG at G2E conference sessions, which will bring together G2E attendees with attendees from the NCRG Conference on Gambling and Addiction to learn more about current disordered gambling research and best practices in responsible gaming. NCRG at G2E conference sessions will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
