NORTHWIND, provider of Maestro™ Enterprise Property Management hotel software and reservation software solutions for the industry’s leading independent hotels, resorts, and multi-property hotel groups announced some operators are turning to Maestro’s cloud-based PMS platform for solid business reasons.

“Independent operators realize there are numerous benefits from the cloud-based, Maestro Property Management Suite of 20 fully-integrated modules,” said Warren Dehan, NORTHWIND-Maestro PMS president.  “Cloud-based systems, also called remotely hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) systems, are widely accepted today as a practical alternative to property-based systems.  There are good business reasons for implementing cloud-based technology.”

NORTHWIND remotely hosts Maestro for operators who want to be free from system support duties.  In these cases, NORTHWIND maintains the property’s Maestro Suite of modules and provides a secure environment for property data.  “We perform system backups and upgrades in our secure network operations hosting facility,” Dehan said.  “This is a valuable service that lets operators focus their attention on guest service and revenue generating activities.  New staff can also learn Maestro more quickly because they can train from their browser from any location.”

“A major advantage of cloud-based Maestro is that our property does not have to have an IT person on staff.  Plus, since NORTHWIND hosts our Maestro system I do not have to worry about power outages and their impact on our database,” said Tim Belcher, assistant general manager of Legacy Hotel & Conferences.  “Maestro’s cloud server frees us to spend more time serving our guests and providing the personal attention they expect. We have always been extremely pleased with our Maestro system and NORTHWIND’s Diamond Plus service, and going cloud based just made our job even easier.”

Maestro’s cloud-based solutions are identical in functionality and capability with property-based Maestro.  With 20 integrated modules that share on database, Maestro provides a complete hotel and multi-property performance solution to give operators a guest-centric, 360-degree view of all guests.  Maestro’s flexibility gives operators the freedom to select the best property technology strategy for their own unique requirements.  NORTHWIND’s Maestro Suite is currently deployed on Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and other operating systems to adapt to each operator’s preference.  “Many independent multi-property operators host Maestro from their corporate offices to support their hotel groups.  Maestro Multi-Property enables them to cross sell all their hotels and oversee operations for their entire enterprise,” Dehan said.

“A major advantage to cloud-based Maestro users is the ability of managers to monitor property performance remotely,” explained Dehan.  “Operators can remotely connect to their hotel to track occupancy, group sales data, and other performance metrics to help them personally manage operations while traveling.”  Additionally, cloud-based Maestro does not require a property-based server to maintain the system and database, so hardware cost is reduced.
