Kaba Workforce Solutions (Kaba), the North American operating subsidiary of Kaba Holding AG, Switzerland (SWISS: KABN), is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract to automate time and data collection for the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC).

The Department of Corrections will deploy Kaba’s B-COMM for PeopleSoft Time and Labor solution for 9800 employees at the State’s prisons, transitional centers, and probation centers. B-COMM, an Oracle Validated solution, will directly connect GDC’s PeopleSoft Time and Labor system, providing a seamless and efficient way to collect and process time information. The Department will deploy 100 Kaba B-Web 9500 Series Time Collection Devices (TCD), Kaba’s Mobile Data Collection solution, and Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system for telephone time collection.

The use of Time Collection Devices will enhance the accuracy of time reporting and provide cost savings due to the elimination of labor-intensive, paper-based time reporting processes. Additionally, the solution will help GDC control labor costs and improve absence management. Features of Kaba’s B-COMM for PeopleSoft time collection solution include the capability to:

• Connect and communicate bi-directionally with PeopleSoft Time and Labor
• Collect and validate data at the point of entry
• Record employee punch time - clock in, clock out, start break, start meal, transfer
• Record employee elapsed events - vacation, sick, jury duty, holiday
• Utilize smart phones for data collection
• Handle Employee Self Service requests including review of leave balances and requesting time-off.

By deploying Kaba’s B-COMM solution for time collection, The Georgia Department of Corrections can fully leverage their investment in PeopleSoft Time & Labor by controlling labor costs, minimizing compliance risks and improving workforce productivity.
