Waypoint Seafood & Grill Implements MICROS myreservations, Offering an Added Convenience to Customers and Staff with Online Reservations

MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Waypoint Seafood & Grill, a popular restaurant located in Williamsburg, VA, has successfully implemented the new MICROS myreservations Internet booking engine to allow customers to secure online restaurant reservations directly via the Waypoint Seafood & Grill website.

The Waypoint Seafood & Grill, which specializes in Southern Coastal Cuisine, was the first US site to implement MICROS myreservations to enhance the overall guest experience and create a fully integrated technology environment for its employees and guests.

MICROS myreservations allows Waypoint Seafood & Grill’s customers to view real-time seating availability at the restaurant as well as a two-hour window of openings before and after the selected time in the event that seating is limited. Once a guest selects the desired time, a confirmation message is emailed to the customer and the reservation is sent directly to the MICROS Table Management System (TMS) without the need for any additional entry at the restaurant. This capability eliminates disruptions to employee workflow and manual errors, and eliminates the need for any costly third-party reservation service. The fully integrated solution allows the restaurant to match reservations with real-time table statuses and, once the party is seated, the reservation information is linked from the MICROS TMS to the customer’s check on the MICROS point-of-service (POS) solution.
