Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), producers of Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), announced that IBM will be the patron sponsor of GUESTROOM 2010, a model guestroom featuring some of the latest and near-future technologies for the modern hotel room.

The 2007 model of GUESTROOM 2010 will be unveiled at HITEC 2007 and will be on display at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. June 26 - 28. It will feature different technologies discovered following a worldwide, comprehensive search of existing, cutting-edge and future guestroom innovations.

“GUESTROOM 2010 has quickly become a must-see exhibit at HITEC,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP executive vice president and CEO. “It takes a lot of time and hard work to pull the model guestroom together and we appreciate IBM’s commitment to helping GUESTROOM 2010 become an important reference of new and upcoming technologies in the hospitality industry.”

IBM was the 2006 patron sponsor of GUESTROOM 2010 when it debuted to maximum capacity crowds at HITEC 2006 in Minneapolis, Minn. It was also on display at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York in November 2006. In addition, HFTP has created a GUESTROOM 2010 presentation featuring a discussion of the room's technologies, which has been presented at a number of industry-wide conferences this past year. Technologies shown in the 2006 exhibit included extreme innovations like a bed without a mattress and the more practical self-cleaning shower.

Submit a Technology for GUESTROOM 2010
In order to design the 2007 model of GUESTROOM 2010, HFTP is conducting a global search for the industry’s most innovative technologies for the hotel guestroom. This includes non-traditional types of technology such as lighting, fabrics and furniture, as well as traditional technology such as next-generation televisions, phones and robots. Hospitality technology suppliers, consumer technology companies, inventors and others who have a technology product that should be considered for display must apply by April 13. You do not have to be a member of HFTP or a current HITEC 2007 exhibitor to participate.
