Recognizing the importance of in-trip mobile engagement within the travel industry, the Web Marketing Association has awarded LodgeNet Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: LNET), a leading provider of interactive media and connectivity services to the hospitality industry and the consumers they serve, with the 2012 Best Hotel and Lodging Mobile Application award for its excellence in mobile development.

Smartphones and tablets have become travelers’ constant companions, and awards like the Best Hotel and Lodging Mobile Application underscore the importance of hoteliers interacting with travelers through their mobile devices. With the LodgeNet Mobile App, hoteliers are able to make the most of the in-market travel experience with services that are relevant, convenient and important for travelers.

“This award is a fantastic accolade for LodgeNet Mobile, as it recognizes our focus and dedication to providing hotels with the ultimate mobile tool to continually engage their guests throughout their entire trip,” said Derek S. White, President of Interactive & Media Networks for LodgeNet. “Our mobile app is helping heighten guest loyalty for the hotel brands we work with.” White said that a key decision factor in the Web Marketing Association’s award was LodgeNet’s innovative and timely delivery of contextual information and services triggered by traveler location.
